ASUS unveiled the Fonepad, a 7-inch tablet that makes phone calls

ASUS officially unveiled the Fonepad, a 7-inch tablet with built-in phone functionality and PadFone infinity(phone that turns into a tablet) at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month.

The FonePad has a 7-inch display, which packs in 1280x800 pixels, making this the same size and resolution as the Nexus 7, Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, also has 3G connectivity and full telephony support, just like on a smartphone. And powered by the new Intel Atom Z2420 processor, along with 1GB of RAM, a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, 8/16GB of storage (expandable via SD memory cards) and an HSPA+ radio. The 4,270mAh battery is said to get up to nine hours of runtime. It lacks a rear camera(the Asian version will sport a 3MP rear camera, though), but finds space for a 1.2-megapixel front-facing snapper, which should come in handy for video calling.
